Its geometric and mathematical properties and frequent re-proposal in various natural and cultural contexts, apparently unconnected to each other, have for centuries aroused in the mind of man the confirmation of the existence of a relationship between macrocosm and microcosm, between God and the man, the universe and nature: a relationship between the whole and the part, between the largest part and the smallest one which repeats itself endlessly through infinite subdivisions.
